COVID-19 Clinic Update

MAY 2020

To our valued patients:

We hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy and doing your best to fight the spread of COVID-19. Since mid-March, we have only been able to see patients who have required urgent care as directed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and the Ontario College of Optometrists. We sincerely apologize to all patients whose appointments, treatments and surgeries have been rescheduled due to the pandemic. We thank you for your understanding. We promise that you will be given first priority when re-booking your appointment.

On May 26th, the COVID-19 Directive #2 for Health Care Providers was amended to state that we may resume routine care. The health and safety of our patients, staff and community remain our utmost priority. As such, the following changes have been implemented:

  • We have installed plexiglass at reception for the protection of patients and staff. In addition, all staff are required to wear full PPE at all times

  • In order to maintain physical distancing standards, we will be limiting the number of people in our office. If capacity has been reached, you will be asked to kindly wait outside or in your car and you will be contacted when we are able to safely see you

  • The highest standards of testing equipment disinfection will continue to be implemented. Clinic disinfection of chairs, door handles, countertops etc. will be maximized throughout the day. In addition, all toys and magazines have been removed from the clinic

  • Hand sanitizer will be widely available for patient use

  • We will do our utmost best to ensure all patients feel safe and comfortable during their visit. However, we understand that some may not feel comfortable with an in-office visit. As such, our doctors will remain available for teleconsults (by phone or video). Please CONTACT US if you wish to schedule a teleconsult

  • All patients will be screened at the time of appointment booking and once again upon entering the clinic for their appointment

  • All patients are required to wear a mask to their appointment. If you do not have a mask, you may purchase one from us for $2.50. Cloth masks are acceptable

  • Please arrive by yourself to your appointment, unless an escort is required (ie parent, caregiver, or translator)

  • In order to minimize wait times, we ask that you please arrive at the scheduled time of your appointment. If you arrive early, please wait inside your car or outside of the building until it is your appointment time. If you are more than 20 minutes late, your appointment will be rescheduled for a later date

YFEA thanks you for your continued understanding and patience during this challenging time. If you have any questions or concerns, please CONTACT US at your convenience.
