Effective September 1, 2023, changes were made to which eye exams are covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). The details of those changes can be found here.

Earlier in 2023, the Ministry of Health and the Ontario Association of Optometrists reached an agreement which included changes to tests and appointments will be covered under OHIP. The College of Optometrists of Ontario was not involved in this agreement and cannot answer any questions regarding the changes. Any questions about OHIP rules or interpretation of those rules should be directed to the Ontario Association of Optometrists, OHIP and/or the Ministry of Health.

In addition, the completion of forms and letters are not covered by OHIP an are an additional fee. Please CONTACT US for more information regarding fees.
